Here’s some stories behind a few selected Hoochie gems:

This bag is a combination of a 1920s clutch and a 1960s bag that were both in bad shape but too special to go to waste.
Irja, the Hoochie Mama herself, found the clutch on e-bay and the fabric from a thrift store and made those two into this fabulously funny and colourful bag.

These snakeskin shoes were found, among some 40 other pairs, from a deceased flight attendant’s closest, by her loving children after her passing. The children, now in their sixties themselves, never knew that their jet-setting mum used to buy shoes all around the different airports in Europe in the 1940s and 50s, because she’d hide them in her closet and only wear them a few times. Who ever claimed that shoe addiction is a modern day phenomenon !

This beautifully delicate night gown is a real treasure from the 1930s, worn as a teenager by a lady professor who was one of the first women in Finland to get the prestigious title of  Kouluneuvos.
